Gov't land swap potentially huge for Sierra
County

Tribe considering putting casino in Luna County

Oscars put New Mexico films in limelight

Although the glamor of the Academy Awards might be dimmed
by the writer's strike since many actors will not cross the
picket lines, New Mexico officials are eager to grab the spotlight
nevertheless. That's because four films made in New Mexico
have snagged a total of 14 Oscar nominations from the Motion
Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences, according to Gov. Bill
Richardson's office.

More than 3,800 metro area homes rise in 12 months

73 percent of the permits issued to central new Mexico homebuilders
in October were for homes priced $150,000 and above. Over

LLC purchased in March 2006 the 97 acres of undeveloped land,
once an alfalfa farm, on which La Vida Suerte Country Estates
will be developed. Trujillo owns Raks Building Supply, which
has locations in Los Lunas, Socorro and Albuquerque. His father,
Nino Trujillo, president of Nino Trujillo & Co. Inc., is serving
as the broker for the development.

Voters OK tax; Covenant to develop a Valencia County hospital

New Mexico Airlines expands service to Ruidoso and Texas

New Mexico Airlines is expanding service to include Ruidoso,
Midland/Odessa and El Paso, Texas.
The carrier is a subsidiary of Pacific Wings, based in Hawaii,
and begins daily air service into Sierra Blanca Regional Airport
15 miles northwest of Ruidoso starting Feb. 11 from Albuquerque,
Midland/Odessa and other southern New Mexico cities. Flights
between Ruidoso and El Paso are to begin March 1.
